Texas has achieved record-breaking employment figures for December 2024, according to data released by the Texas Workforce Commission. Governor Greg Abbott announced that the state reached new highs in total jobs, the number of Texans working, and the size of its labor force.

"Everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes creating good-paying jobs," said Governor Abbott. "As we break record after record for total jobs, the number of Texans working, and our labor force, we begin the new year as America’s job creator. Jobs are growing here, businesses are growing here, the future is growing here. Texas partners with businesses to help them grow and succeed, providing career training for high-demand industries and cutting burdensome regulations. Working together, we will continue to lead the nation and build a brighter future for all Texans."

The latest statistics indicate that Texas's labor force has grown to 15,575,900 individuals. The number of Texans employed, including self-employed workers, reached 14,922,200. Additionally, nonfarm jobs hit a historic high at 14,318,700.

From December 2023 to December 2024 alone, Texas added 284,200 nonfarm jobs and outpaced national job growth rates during this period. Since Governor Abbott took office in 2015, over 2.5 million jobs have been created in Texas.

Governor Abbott recently attended events celebrating President Donald Trump's inauguration in Washington D.C., where he highlighted Texas's economic strength and leadership in innovation and job creation at the Texas Business Conference.
