U.S. Senator John Cornyn of Texas took to the Senate floor to express his disapproval of President Joe Biden's decision to pardon his son, Hunter Biden. Cornyn criticized the move as "blatant corruption" and an "abuse of the office," accusing President Biden of misleading the American public.

Cornyn stated, "Justice means nothing if it’s not applied evenhandedly," emphasizing that no individual should be above the law due to familial ties with a sitting president. He further remarked, "The notion that someone could be above the law simply because his father happens to be president is an affront to law-abiding citizens."

He challenged President Biden's assertion that Hunter was unfairly prosecuted, describing it as "frankly absurd and contrary to all available facts." Cornyn referenced what he termed a nearly completed "sweetheart deal" in Hunter's favor, arguing against selective pardoning.

The senator concluded by stating that Hunter Biden was rightfully prosecuted for criminal activities and expressed concern over the precedent set by this pardon for future administrations.
