Rep. Chip Roy, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 21st district, recently expressed strong opinions on immigration policy through a series of tweets. The tweets, posted on November 18 and 19, 2024, emphasize his stance on deportation and the responsibilities of the Republican Party.
On November 18, Rep. Roy stated, “Our starting place [for deportation] should be for any individuals who came here illegally or were released into the U.S. illegally, illegitimately, by the Harris-Biden-Mayorkas regime. They need to be removed. They need to be deported. That is the starting place." -Rep. Roy
In another tweet from November 18, Rep. Roy further articulated his position by stating that Republicans have been given a mandate for mass deportations: “[Republicans] were given a mandate… mass deportations of all the people that have been illegally dumped into our country.” “We are going to deliver in the next two years, or the Republican Party will go the way of the wigs – it will be no more.”
On November 19, Rep. Roy shared an additional tweet consisting solely of downward pointing hand emojis and a link.
