Rep. Chip Roy, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 21st district, has taken to social media to express his concerns about the handling of unaccompanied alien children under the Biden administration. On November 20, 2024, he shared a series of tweets highlighting these issues.

In a tweet posted at 20:14 UTC on November 20, Rep. Roy included a link accompanied by downward-pointing finger emojis, suggesting emphasis or importance without further elaboration "https://t.co/gI15SliuS7".

Later that day at 20:59 UTC, Rep. Roy directly addressed concerns towards the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) regarding child protection measures. He questioned the credibility of HHS's efforts to safeguard children in their care by referencing cases where vetted sponsors have allegedly harmed them “Mr. Secretary, how can you credibly claim that HHS is working to protect these children? …A ‘vetted sponsor’ that rapes and murders the people that they're entrusted to? ...That's what you think is appropriate care for these children?”.

At 21:13 UTC on November 20, Rep. Roy highlighted alarming statistics concerning missing unaccompanied alien children under the current administration’s watch. He urged for preservation of all related records as part of an effort to address this issue "300,000+ unaccompanied alien children went MISSING under the Biden admin That's why Rep. Roy is demanding that they preserve all records related to this catastrophe https://t.co/B43XreKW0ihttps://t.co/DdkWsQpACo".
