In his statement, Cruz praised Israel's military achievements over the past year against Hezbollah, which he described as an "Iranian-controlled terrorist group." He emphasized that these actions have supported American national security interests by targeting leaders responsible for American casualties.

Cruz criticized the Biden administration for what he perceives as efforts to undermine Israel while supporting Iran. He accused the administration of pressuring Israel into territorial concessions and attempting to establish policies that could constrain future U.S. administrations. He referenced a letter he led with ten other senators regarding potential reevaluation of U.S. relations with the United Nations and Palestinians if certain actions were taken by Palestinian President Abbas.

The senator expressed concern about reports suggesting that officials from the Obama-Biden era pressured Israel into accepting the ceasefire by withholding necessary weapons and threatening international arms embargoes through the United Nations. Cruz stated that these pressures aim to limit Israel's defensive capabilities against groups like Hezbollah.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly asserted that under the ceasefire agreement, Israel maintains its right to defend itself against threats from Hezbollah. Cruz affirmed his commitment to collaborating with both the Trump administration and Congress to support Israel's defense needs.
