Governor Abbott Names Chair, Appoints Four To Texas Commission On The Arts

Governor Greg Abbott has made several appointments to the Texas Commission on the Arts. Abid Neemuchwala, Nancy C. Windham, and Patty Nuss have been appointed, while Kent Perkins has been reappointed. Additionally, Karen Partee has been named the chair of the Commission.

The Texas Commission on the Arts is responsible for fostering a climate that supports the arts and enriches the lives of state citizens. It also aims to attract talented artists to become residents of Texas.

Abid Neemuchwala, co-founder and director of Dallas Venture Capital, has been appointed to the Commission. He holds a bachelor's degree in electronics and communication from the National Institute of Technology in Raipur, India, and a master's degree in industrial management from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, Mumbai, India.

Patty Nuss, a self-employed commercial real estate professional from Corpus Christi, has been reappointed to the Commission. She is actively involved in various arts organizations, including the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra and the Art Museum of South Texas.

Kent Perkins, a retired actor and owner of Lincoln Village Shopping Center, has been reappointed to the Commission. He is a philanthropic supporter of several causes, including CASA and the Billy the Kid Film Festival.

Nancy C. Windham, president and CEO of the Texas Forest Country Partnership, has also been appointed to the Commission. She has a strong background in economic development and has served in various leadership roles in organizations such as the Lufkin Economic Development Corporation and the Nacogdoches Economic Development Corporation.

Karen Partee, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Texas Bank and Trust Company, has been named the chair of the Commission. She is actively involved in the Longview community and has a background in banking and marketing.

These appointments will contribute to the Commission's mission of promoting and supporting the arts in Texas.
