Governor Abbott Appoints Four To Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners

Governor Greg Abbott has made four new appointments to the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners. The board is responsible for regulating the practice of social work in Texas. The appointees are Korina Delapeña, Ryan Dollinger, Quida Pryor, and Lea Ann Tatum.

Korina Delapeña, from Jonestown, has been appointed for a term set to expire on February 1, 2027. She is the executive director of Live Like Cati, a nonprofit organization that promotes drowning prevention among young Texans. Delapeña is also involved in various organizations such as Safe Kids Austin, the National Drowning Prevention Alliance, and The Arc of The Capital Area. She holds an associate degree from Del Mar College and a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

Ryan Dollinger, from Plano, is a licensed clinical social worker and supervisory social worker for the United States Department of Veteran Affairs. He has been appointed for a term set to expire on February 1, 2029. Dollinger is a member of the Department of Health and Human Services Policy Council for Children and Families and the National Association of Social Workers. He is also pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work at Our Lady of the Lake University.

Quida Pryor, from Sugar Land, has been appointed for a term set to expire on February 1, 2029. She brings over 30 years of professional experience as an educator, corporate business analyst, financial consultant, and project manager. Pryor is actively involved in volunteering with Meals on Wheels and organizations that aid people with disabilities. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies and Accounting from United States International University and a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media from the University of Houston.

Lea Ann Tatum, from Palestine, is a social services consultant with Live Oak Healthcare. She has been appointed for a term set to expire on February 1, 2029. Tatum has held various roles in social services and has a Bachelor of Social Work from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

These appointments by Governor Abbott will contribute to the effective regulation and oversight of social work in Texas.
