Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Larry French to the TexNet Technical Advisory Committee, according to a press release from the Office of the Texas Governor. French's term on the committee will expire at the pleasure of the Governor.

The TexNet Technical Advisory Committee provides advice to the Bureau of Economic Geology on the use of funding, particularly with regards to the TexNet Seismic Monitoring Program and collaborative research relationships with other universities in Texas. The committee also assists in the preparation of a status report to the Governor and Legislature.

Larry French, a resident of Austin, brings a wealth of experience to the committee. He recently retired as the groundwater division director for the Texas Water Development Board. French is a licensed geoscientist with the State of Texas, and he holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of California at Riverside and a Master of Arts in Geology from The University of Texas at Austin.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, French also serves on the board of directors of Hyde Park School.

Governor Abbott's appointment of French to the TexNet Technical Advisory Committee reflects his commitment to ensuring that the committee is comprised of qualified individuals who will contribute valuable expertise to the Bureau of Economic Geology.
