Governor Abbott Appoints Four To State Board Of Dental Examiners

Governor Greg Abbott has made four appointments to the State Board of Dental Examiners, ensuring the continuation of effective dental regulation in Texas. The appointments include Brady Morehead, D.D.S., Sarah Lamb, Lorie Jones, and Bryan Henderson, II, D.D.S.

The State Board of Dental Examiners is responsible for administering programs for the testing and licensing of dentists and dental hygienists in Texas. Additionally, the board enforces the state laws that regulate the practice of dentistry.

Brady Morehead, D.D.S., is a highly experienced dentist who currently serves as the clinical director at Dental Health Associates of Texas in San Antonio. He has been a member of the United States Army Reserves since 1992 and holds the rank of Colonel. Morehead is also a master and former chapter president of the San Antonio Academy of General Dentistry. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of South Florida and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Sarah Lamb, from Dallas, brings valuable expertise to the board as a vice president of Brokerage at The Retail Connection. She has previously worked as a registered dental assistant in the State of California. Lamb is actively involved in various organizations, including the Leadership Cohort for the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy and the Board of Directors for Bryan's House. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Francisco State University.

Lorie Jones, a resident of Magnolia, is the CEO of RDA Prep, a company focused on providing high school students with an educational foundation in dentistry. She is a respected member and past president of the Texas Dental Hygienist's Association and the Greater Houston Dental Hygienist's Association. Jones also serves as the president of The University of Texas Dental Hygiene Alumni Association. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from The University of Texas at Houston School of Dentistry and her Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University.

Bryan Henderson, II, D.D.S., is a dentist anesthesiologist and a clinical assistant professor at the Texas A&M University School of Dentistry. He is an active member of several dental associations, including the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. Henderson is also involved in community service as a board member of Woodhill Medical Park and the Orange Tree Association. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin, Doctor of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry, and certificate in anesthesia from the Medical College of Pennsylvania.

These appointments made by Governor Abbott will ensure the State Board of Dental Examiners continues its important work in regulating the dental profession in Texas.
