Governor Greg Abbott has announced that he will be appointing Ryan Luna to the 414th Judicial District Court in McLennan County. The appointment is set to expire on December 31, 2024, or until a successor is duly elected and qualified.
Ryan Luna, currently serving as Judge of McLennan County Court at Law No. 3, brings a wealth of experience to the position. Prior to his current role, Luna worked in private practice, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in civil cases in state and federal court. He is a member of various legal organizations, including the State Bar of Texas, Texas Bar College, Texas Association of County Court at Law Judges, and the Federalist Society.
In addition to his legal career, Luna has been actively involved in his community. He serves on the board of directors for Caritas of Waco and has previously served as the legal clinic director at Mission Waco. Luna is also a former member of the Waco Transit Advisory Board and CareNet Pregnancy Center of Central Texas. He is a graduate of the Leadership Waco program and a lifetime member of the Baylor Law Alumni Association.
Luna holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University and a Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School.
