Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next Governor's Small Business Summit, which aims to honor women small business owners and entrepreneurs, will be held in Houston on Thursday, December 7. The summit is designed to provide resources and information to help small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs start, strengthen, and grow their businesses.

In a statement, Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of supporting women business owners and the opportunities available to them in Texas. He said, "Women business owners, whether they want to start a new business or expand an existing enterprise, benefit from the same opportunities as all entrepreneurs: more access to capital, fewer barriers to entry, and greater freedom to grow. Texas offers more of these growth opportunities than any other state."

The Governor's Small Business Summit in Houston will cover a range of critical business topics and provide networking opportunities for women business owners. The event is co-hosted by the Governor's Commission for Women, the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce, and the Texas Workforce Commission.

The summit will feature panel discussions on topics such as marketing and social media, finance and funding, alternative funding, cybersecurity, and what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. Attendees will have access to all sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots for a registration fee of $20.

The event will take place at the Bayou City Event Center in Houston from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. More information and registration details can be found on the Governor's Small Business Resource Portal website.

The Governor's Office of Economic Development and Tourism, as well as the Office of Small Business Assistance, also offer the Governor's Small Business Resource Portal, which provides on-demand and customized business resources to support small business owners in Texas.

With this summit, Governor Abbott continues to prioritize the growth and success of small businesses in Texas, particularly those owned by women. By providing access to valuable resources and fostering networking opportunities, the Governor's Small Business Summit in Houston aims to empower women entrepreneurs and contribute to the overall economic development of the state.
