U.S. Senator Ted Cruz and Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, along with several other Harvard alumni in Congress, have sent a letter to Harvard University President Claudine Gay demanding that the university publicly condemn the antisemitic statements made by student organizations. The letter comes in response to the war launched by Iran-controlled Hamas terrorists against Israel, during which over thirty Harvard student organizations released a statement blaming Israel for the terrorist attacks.

The letter expresses outrage and disgust over the statement made by the student organizations and demands that Harvard University strongly oppose this dangerous antisemitism. The authors of the letter highlight the brutality of the Hamas attacks, which resulted in the loss of over 700 innocent lives on the first day alone.

In the letter, Senator Cruz emphasizes the need for universities to address the antisemitism that is being bred and unleashed within their institutions. He states, "It is past time for universities to stand up and squarely address the antisemitism that they have been breeding and unleashing, including on their own Jewish students." The letter also calls on Harvard to clarify whether it wants to be an institution of higher learning or an incubator of bigotry and antisemitism.

The authors of the letter criticize Harvard University's delayed response to the student organizations' statement, noting that it took two days for the university leadership to release a statement that failed to condemn the terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians or address the antisemitism on campus. The delayed response is seen as complicity in creating an environment that enables antisemitism.

The letter also raises concerns about the curriculum at Harvard University regarding the State of Israel, arguing that the unified hate and ignorance displayed by the student organizations should be investigated. It calls on Harvard to publicly condemn the statement and make it clear that it opposes violence against Israeli citizens.

Several other Harvard alumni in Congress have joined Senator Cruz and Congresswoman Stefanik in signing the letter. This includes Representatives Dan Crenshaw, Kevin Kiley, and Brian Mast, as well as Senators Mike Crapo and Dan Sullivan.

The letter serves as a reminder that universities have a responsibility to address and condemn antisemitism on their campuses. It calls on Harvard University to take immediate action to address the blatant antisemitism displayed by the student organizations and reaffirm its commitment to opposing violence against Israeli citizens.
