WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has teamed up with Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) to introduce a resolution that aims to recognize and appreciate the hard work of the men and women who power the United States. The resolution seeks to designate October 4, 2023, as National Energy Appreciation Day.

Sen. Cruz emphasized the significance of the energy sector and its workers, stating, “Millions of men and women across the Lone Star State and nation work tirelessly every day to provide our country with abundant and reliable energy. I am proud to join Sen. Lummis and my colleagues in introducing legislation to provide the U.S. energy sector with the recognition it deserves, especially as we battle the Biden administration’s radical climate agenda.”

The resolution has garnered support from several cosponsors, including Sens. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Jim Risch (R-Idaho), Mike Crapo (R-Ind.), Pete Ricketts (R-Neb.), Bill Cassidy (R-La.), John Hoeven (R-N.D.), Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), James Lankford (R-Okla.), Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), and Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.).
