The CEO of an Austin real estate holding company announced during the state's weather emergency last week that he would partner with an area hunger advocacy group to provide 10,000 meals.

"What has happened over the past week has been incredibly hard on our Texas community," World Class Holdings CEO Nate Paul said in a Feb. 19 LinkedIn post. "Millions are still without power and water in freezing temperatures, the roads are dangerous and there is a significant shortage of food and necessities."

Paul announced he had partnered with Feeding Texas, also based in Austin, "to immediately provide 10,000 meals to families in need throughout the state of Texas during these trying times."

"I was born and raised in Texas, and a big part of being a Texan is helping your neighbor in times of need," Paul said.

He also thanked "all the volunteers and those helping on the front lines to keep our community safe and to bring power and water back to all Texans."

"Our team at the Nate Paul Initiative is committed to doing our part to assist," Paul added. "We are one community."

Paul's partnership with Feeding Texas follows a similar donation in July when The Nate Paul Initiative, Paul's charitable organization, announced a partnership with the Austin Area Urban League "to provide significant personal protective equipment and supplies to the African-American community to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic."

That partnership included the donation of 50,000 face masks, 100,000 gloves and other personal protection equipment.

On his LinkedIn page, Paul describes his initiative's mission as "to invest in philanthropy, impact investments and social change opportunities that create actionable solutions to level the playing field and maximize opportunity for all."
