CKD Corporation, a Japan-based company, will open its first U.S. site in Austin.
According to Gov. Greg Abbott's office, the new facility will bring with it 70 new jobs as part of the $13 million investment.
"CKD Corporation’s $13 million investment in the Lone Star State further solidifies Texas' reputation as a premier economic destination both nationally and internationally," Abbott said. "I am proud to welcome CKD Corporation to the Lone Star State and look forward to the economic prosperity this investment will bring to the Austin community. This trailblazing company, combined with Texas' business-friendly environment and high-skilled workforce, will undoubtedly make for a long and successful partnership."
CKD provides automation technology and the Austin plant will produce fluid control components. CKD is a more than 70-year-old company that began in Aichi, Japan. Its products are already delivered to the United States.
Its Austin operations are scheduled to begin in Fall 2021.
