AlertMedia – an Austin-based emergency communications firm – has added hundreds of customers as the novel coronavirus pandemic has created an urgency for employers to reach employees easily.

The Austin American-Statesman reported AlertMedia added 250 customers in March and has received more than $15 million in new funding.

“Our mission is to save lives and minimize loss by facilitating timely communications when an emergency threatens personal safety,” AlertMedia CEO Brian Cruver told the news agency. “Right now, the AlertMedia team is working harder than ever to support companies around the world dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. We are extremely grateful that our software can help organizations and their people during this pandemic.”

The company's software helps employers reach their employees quickly with information and can also alert employees regarding other issues, like network outages, disruptions in supply chains, or natural disasters, according to the American-Statesman.
