Travel industry representatives along with Texas leaders and government officials recently came together at an Austin forum as part of a nationwide effort to combat human trafficking.
The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) joined Texas leaders at the recent Texas Businesses Against Trafficking (TBAT) Partnership Forum as part of the group's No Room For Trafficking national campaign, according to a recent Hotelonline article.
“We all have an important role to play in combatting trafficking every day through raising awareness, coordination with law enforcement and ongoing workforce training, and we look forward to enhancing our efforts through partnerships here in Texas," said Chip Rogers, AHLA president and CEO, in a statement provided to Hotelonline.
The forum, hosted by Texas Secretary of State Ruth Hughs, brought together travel industry members from the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association (THLA), the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA), G6 Hospitality and American Airlines.
"Texas Businesses Against Trafficking was founded by our office to unite industries in our shared mission to end the scourge of human trafficking, and we are so grateful to the hotel industry for joining TBAT’s fight," Hughs noted in the article.
