Gov. Greg Abbott ceremonially signed legislation enacting an $18 billion property tax cut, the largest in Texas history, passed during Special Session #2 of the 88th Legislature on Aug. 9. The signing took place in New Caney, attended by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Speaker Dade Phelan, Sen. Paul Bettencourt, Rep. Morgan Meyer, and other legislators.

Gov. Greg Abbott, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard continue to work to secure the border, combat smuggling and prevent transnational crime. Operation Lone Star resulted in 401,900 illegal immigrant apprehensions, 32,400 criminal arrests and the seizing of 422 million fentanyl doses, according to a press release.
