Carson Tinney hit two home runs and drove in six runs as No. 6 Texas defeated Missouri, 11-6, at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on May 15.

Tinney’s strong performance helped the Longhorns secure their eighth Southeastern Conference series victory of the season. The junior catcher hit a two-run homer after a long at-bat in the third inning and followed it up with a grand slam in the fourth. With these swings, Tinney became only the fifth Texas player to reach 20 home runs in one season and matched Ivan Melendez for most homers clearing the stadium’s “Monster” wall since its opening.

Texas built a commanding lead early, scoring ten unanswered runs through four innings against Missouri. Casey Borba contributed his seventeenth home run of the year, tying him for seventh-most career homers in program history alongside Scott Bryant. Anthony Pack Jr., a freshman, also homered immediately after Tinney’s grand slam to cap off a six-run fourth inning.

Starting pitcher Luke Harrison earned his sixth win of the season by allowing four runs over six and one-third innings while striking out six batters. Harrison managed Missouri’s lineup efficiently until running into difficulty late in his outing.

The Longhorns will conclude their regular season schedule against Missouri on Saturday afternoon.
