Texas Women’s Swimming and Diving remained in second place with 183 points behind Virginia, which leads with 249 points, after the second night of the four-day NCAA Championships at the McAuley Aquatic Center on March 19. The Longhorns achieved five top-seven finishes during the session, including third-place results from Nikolett Padar in the 200-yard freestyle and Bayleigh Cranford on the 1-meter diving board.

The standings highlight a competitive field as Texas continues to challenge for a national title. The team’s consistent performance across multiple events has kept them within reach of first place as they head into the final days of competition.

Campbell Stoll opened night two for Texas with a seventh-place finish in the 100-butterfly, recording a time of 50.61 seconds. Padar followed with her third-place finish in the 200-freestyle, clocking a final time of 1:40.78. Piper Enge contributed a fifth-place result in the 100-breaststroke, finishing in 57.76 seconds. In diving, Cranford secured third place on the 1-meter board with a total score of 320.65 points, highlighted by a strong final dive that earned her podium placement.

The Longhorns also placed seventh in the 200-freestyle relay with Eva Okaro, Lillie Nesty, Lucy Mehraban, and Erin Gemmell combining for a time of 1:26.42. Additional Honorable Mention All-America honors were awarded to Nesty (15th) and Gemmell (12th) in the 200 freestyle and to Stoll (12th) in the 400 individual medley.

Competition will continue through Saturday at McAuley Aquatic Center, featuring finals in several swimming and diving events each evening. Prelims begin at 9 a.m. Central Time daily, while finals are scheduled for 5 p.m., with all sessions streamed live on ESPN+.

As teams prepare for upcoming events such as the backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle races, relays, and additional diving competitions, Texas aims to maintain its momentum and close the gap on Virginia.
