The Texas Women’s Golf team finished the first two rounds of the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational in second place, according to a March 23 update. The Longhorns trail Stanford by seven shots, with a total score of 9-over 569 compared to Stanford’s 2-over 562.
This performance places Texas in strong contention going into the final round. Three Texas players—Farah O’Keefe, Lauren Kim, and Vivian Lu—are ranked among the top ten on the individual leaderboard after two rounds.
O’Keefe leads for Texas with a score of 3-under 137, putting her tied for first place alongside Kiara Romero from Oregon and one shot ahead of third-place competitors Kelly Xu from Stanford and Rianne Malixi from Duke. O’Keefe made ten birdies over two rounds, including three consecutive birdies on holes twelve through fourteen during the first round.
Lauren Kim concluded her play at 1-over 141 with five birdies and is tied for sixth place individually, just one shot behind Meja Örtengren from Stanford. Vivian Lu competed as an individual entry and finished at 2-over 142 with six birdies, placing her tied for ninth on the leaderboard.
Other Longhorns include Cindy Hsu and Angela Heo, both finishing at 6-over par (146) after two rounds and tying for twenty-seventh position. Selina Liao recorded four birdies across both rounds to finish at 7-over par (147), ending in thirty-fourth position.
The final round is scheduled for Tuesday morning at hole one. The team’s placement after this event could impact their national ranking as they continue their season.
