The Texas Women’s Basketball team defeated Oregon, 100-58, at Moody Center on March 22 to secure a place in the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16. Madison Booker set a new single-game NCAA Tournament scoring record for the Longhorns with 40 points, surpassing previous records held by Heather Schreiber and Clarissa Davis.

The victory marks an important milestone for Texas as they continue their postseason run. The team’s performance was highlighted by strong contributions from several players and dominant play on both ends of the court.

Booker led all scorers with her career-high effort, while Rori Harmon added nine points along with five steals and six rebounds in her final home game. Jordan Lee contributed 17 points and Teya Sidberry scored 11. Texas also demonstrated depth, outscoring Oregon in bench points (28-14) and assists (22-8).

Texas began strongly with Booker scoring early and ending the first quarter with 14 points. The defense forced six turnovers from Oregon in the opening period. In the second quarter, Texas extended its lead after holding Oregon scoreless from the field for over three minutes. By halftime, Texas had accumulated ten steals and shot an impressive 67 percent from beyond the arc.

The Longhorns maintained control throughout the second half, including an eight-point run during a third-quarter stretch where they allowed only two free throws for more than four minutes. In total, Texas outscored Oregon by a margin of 55-24 in the second half.

With this win, Texas improved its all-time NCAA tournament record to 55-35 (.611) and is now undefeated at home this season (20-0), extending their program-record home winning streak to 44 games at Moody Center. The team will next face either Kentucky or West Virginia in the Sweet 16 round on March 28.
