The Texas Women’s Golf team finished the second round of the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional in first place on May 12 at UNC Finley Golf Club. The Longhorns posted a 9-under-par score of 271, marking their best team round in program history and putting them four shots ahead of North Carolina.

The strong performance leaves Texas with a total score of 10-under-par 550 after two rounds, making them one of only two teams with an under-par team total so far. The event continues to be significant for the program as they aim to advance further in postseason play.

Farah O’Keefe contributed significantly by carding two eagles during her round. She hit an approach shot from 230 yards to within two feet on hole twelve and made eagle, adding three birdies to finish with a 5-under-par score of 65. O’Keefe is currently in second place individually.

Cindy Hsu also played a key role for Texas, finishing her round with six birdies—including three consecutive birdies from holes seven through nine—for a day-two score of four-under-par 66. Hsu now leads the individual leaderboard at eight-under-par overall.

Other notable performances included Selina Liao and Lauren Kim, who both shot even-par rounds of seventy and are positioned tied for seventeenth and twentieth respectively on the individual leaderboard. Angela Heo finished at two-over seventy-two and is tied for twenty-sixth individually.

The Longhorns will begin their final round at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional on Wednesday morning.
