Texas Track & Field distance runners achieve personal bests at Bryan Clay Invitational

The Texas Track & Field team concluded competition on April 19 at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California, with several athletes achieving personal-best times in the 1,500 meters at Cougar Stadium.

The performances highlighted continued progress for both the women’s and men’s distance squads. Isabel Conde De Frankenberg ran a personal-best time of 4:14.49 in the women’s 1,500 meters invite, moving to No. 2 on Texas’ all-time performers list and marking the fifth-fastest performance in program history. Aishling Callanan finished with a time of 4:25.65 in the same event.

In other sections of the meet, Grace Kowalski posted a personal-best of 4:28.48 in the women’s open A race. Mia Perez led the women’s open B section with a top field time and a new personal best of 4:26.63, while Emma Wade completed her race in 4:41.40.

On the men’s side, three Longhorns achieved personal bests in their respective races during the men’s open A section—Hudson Bennett (3:46.99), Zain Hamdani (3:49.57), and Joaquin De La Cruz (3:50.13).

Meanwhile, other members of Texas Track & Field wrapped up competition at another event—the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational held in Gainesville, Florida.

The team is scheduled to compete next at the Michael Johnson Invitational taking place April 24-25 in Waco.
