Texas will play against Purdue in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 on March 26 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. The game is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. Central and will be broadcast nationally on CBS.

This matchup features No. 11 seed Texas, with a season record of 21-14, taking on No. 2 seed Purdue, which holds a record of 29-8. Texas leads the all-time series between the two teams, four games to two; however, Purdue won their last meeting in March of 2022.

Sean Miller, head coach for Texas, is making his ninth appearance in the Sweet 16 over his coaching career. Miller has compiled a record of twenty-five wins and thirteen losses across fourteen NCAA Tournament appearances and ranks ninth among active Division I coaches for most career tournament victories.

Defensive performance has been notable for Texas during this tournament run. Prior to entering the NCAA Tournament, opponents averaged nearly seventy-seven points per game against them while shooting forty-four point nine percent from the field and thirty-six percent from three-point range. In their first three games of this year’s tournament, Texas has limited opponents to sixty-eight point three points per game on forty-two point three percent shooting overall and just twenty-five point nine percent from beyond the arc.

Sophomore center Matas Vokietaitis has played a key role during these contests by averaging eighteen point three points and eleven rebounds per game while making more than fifty-three percent of his shots from the field. In Saturday’s win over Gonzaga he scored seventeen points with nine rebounds and two assists.
