In singles play, freshman Lucas Marionneau quickly defeated Josef Zapletal in straight sets (6-0, 6-1) at position five. Mariano Dedura-Palomero added another point with a decisive victory on court six (6-1, 6-2). Senior Sebastian Gorzny secured the overall win for Texas by beating Nicholas Niox (6-1, 6-3) on court one.
Other matches remained unfinished but showed leads for Texas players Kalin Ivanovski, Abel Forger, and Jonah Braswell across courts two through four. Detailed results from both singles and doubles matches highlighted consistent performances throughout the lineup.
This result continues a strong postseason tradition for Texas men’s tennis as they look ahead to their upcoming matchup against SMU in Austin.
