Texas Men’s Tennis, ranked No. 3, defeated No. 51 Tennessee with a score of 4-0 on March 27 at the Texas Tennis Center. This victory marked the Longhorns’ third consecutive win and was the first of two home matches scheduled for the weekend.

The match began with Texas winning the doubles point after securing victories at both the No. 3 and No. 1 positions, while play was halted with Texas leading at No. 2 doubles. In singles play, freshman Lucas Marionneau earned a straight-set win at No. 6 to extend Texas’s lead to 2-0, followed by sophomore Oliver Ojakaar’s victory at No. 3 and senior Sebastian Gorzny’s clinching performance at No. 1.

Abel Forger, who did not compete in doubles alongside his usual partner Kalin Ivanovski, played singles and was close to serving out his match when play stopped due to Texas having already secured enough points for the team victory. Other matches left unfinished included those involving Sebastian Eriksson and Jonah Braswell, both of whom had won their first sets before play concluded.

The detailed breakdown showed strong performances across all courts for Texas: Marionneau swept Piotr Siekanowicz in straight sets; Ojakaar overcame Jan Kobierski; and Gorzny recorded a ranked win over Jose Garcia to seal the overall result for the Longhorns.

Looking ahead, Texas (17-6 overall, 8-2 in conference) is set to host Arkansas on Sunday, March 29 at the Texas Tennis Center.
