The University of Texas men’s basketball team will play against North Carolina State in the NCAA First Four on March 17, with tip-off scheduled for approximately 8:10 p.m. Central at the University of Dayton Arena, according to an announcement made on March 15 by CBS Sports and Turner Sports. The game will be broadcast nationally on truTV.

This matchup is significant as it marks Texas’ 40th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament and its sixth consecutive trip to the event. The Longhorns are one of only seven schools nationwide to have appeared in at least 24 of the last 27 tournaments, excluding the canceled 2021 postseason due to COVID-19. They are also among six schools with at least 32 appearances over the past 37 years.

If Texas wins against NC State, they will advance to play Brigham Young University (BYU), a No. 6 seed, in Portland, Oregon, on March 19. That game is set for a 6:25 p.m. Central start and will air nationally on TBS.

Tickets for the First Four game are not available through Texas Athletics but can be purchased directly from the NCAA via Ticketmaster. Season ticket holders may request tickets for both first and second round games through Texas Athletics until March 16 at 2 p.m. Central Time; requests will be filled based on Loyalty Points rank order. Ticket prices are $165 per seat per round, and ticket holders must commit to both rounds when making their request.

Order status notifications for ticket requests will be sent by email after March 16 at 5 p.m., with charges applied only if requests are fulfilled and as Texas advances through each round.
