Texas industry leaders convened with His Majesty King Abdullah II to explore avenues for strengthening economic ties between Texas and Jordan. The meeting aimed at discussing potential opportunities in business and trade, fostering a deeper connection between the two regions.

Jane Nelson, Texas Secretary of State, highlighted the significance of the gathering: “Today’s gathering is an important step toward deepening ties with Jordan, a resilient economy with a thriving entrepreneurial culture and an expanding role in global trade.” She emphasized the various areas of potential collaboration, including expanding trade, encouraging research initiatives, and building stronger business exchanges.

Adriana Cruz, Executive Director of Texas Economic Development & Tourism, expressed her honor in hosting the event: “It was an honor to welcome His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan to Texas and to host some of Texas’ top business leaders who are driving innovation across critical industries around the world.” Cruz underlined Texas’ status as a leading destination for job-creating business investment and its competitive edge on the international stage.

Arun Agarwal, Chair of the Texas Economic Development Corporation Board and CEO of Nextt, commented on the significance of such gatherings: “Bringing together His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan and Texas’ leading business voices creates a unique platform for fostering deeper economic ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration.”

Aaron Demerson, President and CEO of the Texas Economic Development Corporation, also shared his perspective: “It was an honor to host His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan alongside some of Texas’ top business leaders for a meaningful dialogue on the endless economic opportunity available in the Lone Star State.”

The roundtable was hosted by multiple state offices including the Governor’s Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office. It featured executives from prominent sectors like energy, crypto mining, semiconductors, defense manufacturing, and drone technology. The aim was to provide an overview of these industries while facilitating discussions on strategic partnerships that could drive growth and prosperity for both regions.
