Texas DPS leads crime suppression operation resulting in 39 arrests

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), in collaboration with the Hereford Police Department and Deaf Smith County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a successful crime suppression operation in Deaf Smith County. The coordinated effort resulted in the arrest of 39 individuals over a two-day period.

The operation took place on July 17-18, 2025, targeting violent offenders and fugitives with outstanding warrants for various crimes, including multiple felony offenses. Those apprehended were booked into the Deaf Smith County Jail on more than 40 different charges.

In addition to arrests based on outstanding warrants, law enforcement also made several arrests for offenses committed during the operation. These included evading arrest with a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance, and manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.
