The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has announced the arrest of Antonio Rodriguez Jr., who was listed as this month’s Texas 10 Most Wanted Featured Fugitive. Rodriguez, 28, was apprehended in Pasadena, near Houston, on January 7. The arrest followed a tip that led DPS Criminal Investigations Division Special Agents, Texas Highway Patrol Troopers, and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crime Apprehension Team to his location after he left an apartment complex.
Rodriguez has a criminal history dating back to 2014 with convictions for burglary of a vehicle, escape while arrested or confined, burglary of a building, evading arrest or detention, and driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years old. He was released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in January 2024 and had been wanted since August 2025 in Harris County for robbery with bodily injury.
DPS stated that “an increased Crime Stoppers reward will be paid for his arrest.” According to the department, cash rewards are funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office and are offered to individuals who provide information leading to the arrest of fugitives listed among Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, Sex Offenders or Criminal Illegal Immigrants. In 2025 alone, DPS and other agencies made arrests of 65 individuals from these lists—including 28 sex offenders and 13 criminal illegal immigrants—with $41,000 paid out in rewards for tips that resulted in arrests.
To qualify for these cash rewards, tipsters must provide information using specified methods provided by authorities. All tips remain anonymous; those submitting tips receive a tip number rather than using their name.
“DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, Sex Offenders and Criminal Illegal Immigrants Lists,” according to DPS.
