Texas has achieved record-breaking employment figures, according to recent data released by the Texas Workforce Commission. Governor Greg Abbott highlighted this economic progress, noting that the state has surpassed all previous records for total jobs, the number of Texans employed, and the size of its labor force.

The state added 213,300 nonfarm jobs over the past year, exceeding national growth rates. “The most important measure of Texas’ economic momentum is the number of Texans working,” said Governor Abbott. He emphasized that businesses invest in Texas due to its strong economy and diverse industries.

According to May’s employment data, Texas now has a labor force totaling 15,839,400 people. The number of employed Texans, including those self-employed, reached 15,192,300. The total number of nonfarm jobs stands at 14,340,800 after an increase of 28,100 jobs in May alone.

Governor Abbott also celebrated Texas receiving its 12th Gold Shovel Award for job creation and capital investment. Additionally, he signed several new laws this week aimed at providing property tax relief and facilitating business formation by reducing government regulations. These legislative actions are intended to further stimulate economic growth and investment in Texas.
