Texas beach volleyball will host the Lone Star Classic at the Wright-Whitaker Sports Complex in Austin on April 18. The Longhorns, ranked No. 4, are set to face UTEP and Houston Christian in a one-day event.

The event is significant as it provides Texas with an opportunity to continue its strong season and celebrate its senior athletes. Six seniors—Macey Butler, Katie Hashman, Emma Grace Robertson, Hannah Ogden, Presley Wright, and Karin Zolnercikova—will be honored following Saturday’s matches.

According to the team announcement, Texas enters the weekend with a record of 20 wins and six losses overall. Against ranked opponents this season, they have achieved a record of 16-6. Two weekends ago at the Longhorn Showdown, Texas swept their competition by earning victories over No. 19 Washington, Tulane, and Houston Christian.

Saturday’s matchups begin with UTEP at 10:30 a.m., where Texas holds a series lead of two wins without any losses; their last meeting ended in a decisive five-to-zero win for Texas on February 23. Later that day at 3:00 p.m., Texas will play Houston Christian—a team they lead four games to one in all-time meetings—with their most recent contest also resulting in a five-to-zero victory for Texas earlier this month.

Both matches will be broadcast on LHN/KBVO and are presented by Truist.
