Texas Beach Volleyball won all three of its matches on April 3, sweeping No. 19 Washington, Tulane, and Houston Christian during the opening day of the Longhorn Showdown at Wright-Whitaker Sports Complex in Austin.

The results improve Texas’ overall record to 19-6 this season, including a strong showing against ranked opponents with a 17-6 mark. The team demonstrated consistent performance across each matchup, not dropping a single match in any of the duals.

Against Tulane, Brecht Piersma and Katie Hashman secured the clinching point for Texas on Court 1 with scores of 21-15 and 23-21. In their next contest versus Houston Christian, Ava Patton and Vivian Johnson delivered another clincher on Court 1 by winning their match in straight sets (21-18, 21-8). The final sweep came against Washington where Piersma and Hashman rallied from a set down to win (19-21, 21-15, 15-6), once again sealing victory for Texas.

Other notable performances included Anna Pavelkova and Kacka Pavelkova’s wins on Courts 2 across all three duals as well as Lily Davis and Emma Grace Robertson’s straight-set victories throughout the day. Chloe Charles paired with Savannah Thomas for additional points while Devin Kahahawai teamed up with Macey Butler to round out Texas’ dominant showing.

Texas is scheduled to continue competition Saturday morning against Tulane at Wright-Whitaker Sports Complex. The match will be broadcast live on LHN/KBVO.
