Senator Ted Cruz, a Republican from Texas, posted a series of updates on July 30, 2025, addressing legal and policy matters including immigration litigation, agricultural support programs, and proposed legislation concerning the Federal Reserve.

In his first post of the day, Cruz announced his involvement in an upcoming court case: “This week, I’ll lead an amicus brief in the case of Al Otro Lado v. Noem — a case that epitomizes the 9th Circuit’s lawlessness. Immigration policy is for the political branches, not activist judges.” (July 30, 2025). The statement reflects Cruz’s position on judicial intervention in immigration matters.

Later that day, he highlighted media coverage of his advocacy for Texas farmers and ranchers: “.@KTXS_News: Senator Cruz discusses Livestock Indemnity Program, aiding Texas farmers and ranchers” (July 30, 2025).

In a subsequent release posted online that evening, Cruz announced new legislative efforts with Senator Scott: “RELEASE: Sens. Cruz, Scott Lead Bill to Stop Federal Reserve from Paying Interest on Bank Reserves” (July 30, 2025).

Cruz has maintained a prominent role in Texas politics since first being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012. He won re-election against Paul Sadler in 2012 with 56.5% of the vote to Sadler’s 40.6%, prevailed over Beto O’Rourke in a closely watched race in 2018 with a margin of about three percentage points (50.9% to O’Rourke’s 48.3%), and secured another term by defeating Colin Allred in the general election held in 2024 with approximately 53.1% of votes compared to Allred’s 44.6%.
