St. Edward’s tops Western New Mexico, advances in NCAA Division II tournament

Braeden Spinden, a former James Bowie High School athlete, helped lead the St. Edward’s Hilltoppers to an 83-71 win over the Western New Mexico Mustangs on Saturday, March 14 in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament.

The matchup, held at the Kenneth E. Burg Center at 7:30 p.m., marked the Hilltoppers’ first tournament game against Western New Mexico.

St. Edward’s is set to play its next tournament game on Sunday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the same venue.
