Senator Ted Cruz, representing Texas, shared a series of updates on July 31, 2025, regarding recent legislative initiatives and policy achievements. The posts highlighted new bills introduced by Cruz as well as the passage of significant tax reforms.
In his first post of the day, Cruz announced: “RELEASE: Sen. Cruz Introduces Bill Safeguarding Schools From Influence by Foreign Adversaries” (July 31, 2025). The message was accompanied by links to further information about the proposed legislation.
Later that afternoon, Cruz referenced a campaign promise made by former President Donald Trump and detailed its fulfillment in new tax legislation: “President Trump promised the American people he’d eliminate Taxes on Tips. I’m proud to have gotten this in the One Big Beautiful Bill and across the finish line. Here’s how Texans are feeling about this new law. “ (July 31, 2025).
In a subsequent update, Cruz described provisions included in major federal legislation for aviation safety and technology upgrades: “I wrote $12.5 billion in to the One Big Beautiful Bill to upgrade our Air Traffic Control equipment. And this week, I introduced the ROTOR Act that will mandate ADS-B In and Out on all of our aircraft. We’re going to make sure tragedies like Flight 5342 never happen again.” (July 31, 2025).
Senator Ted Cruz has held his seat since winning election in 2012 against Paul Sadler with 56.5% of the vote to Sadler’s 40.6%. He was re-elected in close contests against Beto O’Rourke in 2018—securing victory with just over half of the votes—and Colin Allred in 2024 with a margin of nearly nine percentage points.
