Senator Ted Cruz, U.S. Senator from Texas and a prominent figure in recent election cycles, made several public statements on social media calling for the impeachment of federal judges and commenting on developments in Iran.

On January 8, 2026, Cruz posted, “Impeach Judge Boasberg and Judge Boardman now.” Later that day, he referenced a news headline from Breitbart News: “Ted Cruz Calls to Impeach Judge James Boasberg and Judge Who Gave Lighter Sentence to Kavanaugh Attempted Assassin” | @BreitbartNews.

The following day, on January 9, 2026, Cruz addressed international affairs with a post about Iran: “WATCH: Iran lost the 12-day war—and President Trump utterly destroyed Iran’s nuclear facilities—and now the people of Iran are rising up against the Ayatollah. If the people of Iran overthrow the America-hating Islamist mullahs, it would be a massive national security victory.”

Cruz has maintained a high profile in U.S. politics over multiple election cycles. In 2024, he secured re-election by defeating Colin Allred with 53.1% of the vote to Allred’s 44.6%. In previous elections, he won against Beto O’Rourke in 2018 and Paul Sadler in 2012.
