Today, the U.S. Senate passed the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), which includes several initiatives authored by U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas. The bill features components such as Trump Accounts, the No Tax on Tips Act, and two school choice initiatives.
Senator Cruz commented on the passage of the bill: “Today, we delivered on our promise to the American people to cut taxes, create jobs, support working Americans, and transformationally invest in our children.”
He highlighted his long-standing advocacy for school choice by stating that this legislation provides significant funding for K–12 scholarships nationwide. “This historic investment represents the largest federal school choice program ever passed,” he noted.
The OBBB also incorporates Cruz’s No Tax on Tips Act aimed at benefiting service industry workers like waiters and taxi drivers. Additionally, it mandates an auction of 800 MHz of spectrum intended to advance 6G technology development in competition with China.
Furthermore, Cruz introduced Trump Accounts within the bill—personal investment accounts designed for every child in America to promote financial growth and capitalist principles.
Another key component is the State Border Security Assistance Act included in the bill. This provision seeks reimbursement for Texas’s expenses related to border security during what Cruz described as “the Biden administration’s illegal alien invasion.”
Cruz urged his colleagues in the House of Representatives to prioritize American families by retaining these provisions in their version of the legislation.
