Senate Commerce schedules hearing for Sean Duffy’s transportation secretary nomination

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, has announced a nomination hearing for Sean Duffy to become the U.S. Secretary of Transportation. The hearing is scheduled for January 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST.

Senator Cruz expressed his support for Duffy’s nomination by stating, “Sean Duffy will be an exceptional public servant in leading the Department of Transportation and help make travel safer, faster, and more affordable for all Americans. He will play a key role in improving aviation safety, expediting construction permits, promoting American jobs, and repealing burdensome environmental regulations that hinder American innovation.”

The meeting between Sen. Cruz and Sean Duffy took place on December 10, 2024. They discussed various topics related to the Department of Transportation’s mission to ensure safety and enhance the efficiency of transportation infrastructure across the country.
