Chip Roy, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman for Texas’ 21st District since 2019, frequently addresses pressing political issues through social media. On May 14, 2025, the press office of Rep. Chip Roy made several statements on Twitter regarding law enforcement and healthcare policy.

In a post dated May 14, 2025, the press office stated, “NEVER FORGET: Democrats DEFUNDED the police and sided with VIOLENT MOBS.” The tweet included a call to action to watch Rep. Roy criticize Democrats for advocating defunding the police.

Later that day, another tweet simply provided additional information through a link labeled “MORE.”

On the same date, another statement was issued by the press office expressing concern about healthcare policy: “Congress has no excuse for failing to seize the moment to address the expansion of Obamacare — which massively solidified a broken healthcare system.” The statement warned that without decisive action, “the United States will be one step closer to a fully socialist healthcare system.”

Roy’s comments reflect ongoing debates in Congress regarding public safety funding and healthcare reform. As a graduate of both the University of Virginia and the University of Texas-Austin’s law school, Roy brings an academic background to his legislative role.
