On April 10, 2025, Rep. Chip Roy expressed his conditional support for a Senate amendment to the House Budget Resolution. “Today, I reluctantly voted for the Senate amendment to the House Budget Resolution on the basis of three specific commitments that form the floor for my consideration of the final reconciliation package. First,” he stated, indicating his reservations but willingness to engage based on outlined commitments.

Later the same day, he shared his condolences regarding the death of Border Patrol Agent Alejandro “Alex” De Luna Jr. from the Rio Grande Valley Sector, acknowledging the agent’s dedication to border security. “Rep. Roy mourns the tragic passing of Border Patrol Agent Alejandro “Alex” De Luna Jr. of the Rio Grande Valley Sector, who dedicated his career to securing our borders and sovereignty. His Prayers are with Agent De Luna, his family, and his Border Patrol family.”

In another post, Chip Roy commented on the significance of the SAVE Act, a piece of legislature aimed at ensuring election integrity. Rep. Roy on the SAVE Act: “This legislation is designed to restore that faith, to save our elections, to save election integrity.”

Chip Roy is currently serving in the U.S. Congress, representing Texas’ 21st district since 2019. Born in Bethesda, Maryland in 1972 and residing in Austin, Texas, Roy has an educational background including a BS from the University of Virginia and a JD from the University of Texas-Austin.
