Paul Dyson, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 14th district, has recently made several statements on social media regarding legislative priorities and attendance in the Texas House.

On August 1, 2025, Dyson announced his endorsement from Governor Greg Abbott and highlighted recent legislative achievements. He stated, “Honored to have the endorsement of Governor @GregAbbott_TX. This session, we passed major conservative wins: bail reform, border security, and stronger protections for law enforcement! Now, in the special session, we have even more wins set in our sights. I’m ready to help”.

In a post dated August 3, 2025, Dyson addressed concerns about members leaving the Texas House during critical sessions. He wrote, “If you abandon the Texas House, you abandon the people who sent you there. Skipping out MUST come with consequences. Vice chairmanships should be revoked, fines enforced, and every rule applied to hold them accountable!”

The following day on August 4, 2025, Dyson called on Democratic colleagues to return for legislative duties: “I urge all my Democrat colleagues to refuel their private jet and return by 3pm tomorrow. Republicans are united, and the time and law are on our side.”

Dyson was elected in 2025 to represent Texas’s 14th House district after succeeding John N. Raney.
