U.S. Senator John Cornyn has announced the results of Operation Restore Justice, a mission conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and law enforcement agencies aimed at identifying and arresting child sex offenders. The operation resulted in the rescue of 115 children and the arrest of 205 offenders, including six individuals in Texas.
Senator Cornyn stated, “There is no crime more heinous than child sexual exploitation, and I am grateful that my law to reauthorize the Project Safe Childhood program has most recently led to more than 200 dangerous individuals who have committed this unthinkable act being taken off our streets and 115 children being rescued through Operation Restore Justice.”
He expressed gratitude towards Attorney General Bondi, the DOJ, and other law enforcement agencies for their efforts in prioritizing child safety. “Thank you to Attorney General Bondi, the entire Department of Justice, and other law enforcement agencies involved for prioritizing the safety of our nation’s most vulnerable,” said Sen. Cornyn.
Operation Restore Justice is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the DOJ in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation. Senator Cornyn authored and passed the Project Safe Childhood Act, which was signed into law in December 2024, reauthorizing and strengthening this initiative.
In Texas specifically, six individuals were arrested as part of this operation on charges ranging from distribution and possession of child pornography to child sexual exploitation.
