University of Texas senior guard Jordan Pope has been named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District Men’s Basketball team by College Sports Communicators, according to a March 24 announcement. The award honors student-athletes who excel both on the court and in their academic pursuits.
Pope’s recognition highlights his achievements as a student-athlete, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.82 while majoring in Communication & Leadership at the Moody College of Communication. He is expected to complete his undergraduate degree this summer.
During his collegiate career, which spans four years at Texas and Oregon State, Pope has played in 134 games with 129 starts. He has scored a total of 1,809 points, recorded 310 assists and grabbed 307 rebounds. His shooting percentages include converting on 37 percent from three-point range and nearly 86 percent from the free throw line. He has reached double figures in scoring in almost one hundred games and surpassed twenty points on twenty occasions.
In the current season’s first thirty-five games for Texas, Pope ranks second on the team for assists and minutes played while being fourth in scoring average at thirteen points per game. He maintains an assist-to-turnover ratio above two-to-one and continues strong performances from beyond the arc as well as at the free throw line.
Looking ahead, Pope and the Longhorns (21-14) are set to play Purdue in the NCAA West Region Sweet Sixteen on Thursday, March 26 at SAP Center in San Jose. The game will be broadcast nationally by CBS.
