Governor Greg Abbott expressed gratitude to fellow governors for their support following severe flooding in Texas. The state received emergency response and recovery resources from 26 states after a request through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC).

“Texas is grateful for the outpouring of support from our fellow Americans across the country as we continue to recover and rebuild after the devastating floods,” said Governor Abbott. “The bravery and generosity of these emergency teams played a vital role in our mission to save lives and help our communities begin the road to recovery. Texas will rebuild, and we thank our partners for standing with us every step of the way.”

The assistance included various resources such as Type 3 Urban Search and Rescue Teams, Swiftwater Boat Squads, K-9 Teams, National Guard helicopters, and personnel to coordinate efforts. States like Alabama, California, Florida, Louisiana, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin provided significant aid.

Texans can find information on flood response efforts at disaster.texas.gov. EMAC facilitates state-to-state mutual aid during disasters or emergencies by allowing resource sharing among member states.
