Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Daniel Bivens and Vanessa Cortez Tanner to the State Employee Charitable Campaign Policy Committee. Their terms are scheduled to expire on September 1, 2026.

Bivens, based in Austin, is retired from his role with the State of Texas. His previous positions included director of the Office of Public Utility Counsel and program specialist at the Railroad Commission of Texas. Currently, he is involved with church ministries and serves as a grow group teacher. Bivens holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University.

Tanner, also from Austin, serves as chief of staff for Representative Brad Buckley. Her career in public service includes previous roles as chief of staff for Representative Scott Sanford and director for the Texas Senate Committee on Administration. In addition, Tanner is actively engaged with several organizations, including the Texas State University Austin Alumni Chapter and the Wittliff Collections Advisory Board. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Mass Communication from Texas State University.

The reappointments are pending Senate confirmation.
