Governor Greg Abbott has announced the reappointment of Alethea Swann Bugg to the State Preservation Board. Bugg’s term is set to expire on February 1, 2027. This decision is pending confirmation by the Senate.

Alethea Swann Bugg has a notable presence in San Antonio as a community volunteer. She currently holds the position of board chair at Mission Road Ministries and serves as the board president of the Friends of the Tobin Library at Oakwell. Bugg is also engaged with the Charity Ball Association of San Antonio. Her previous roles include serving as the board chair of the Blood and Tissue Center Foundation and being a part of the KLRN Endowment Fund board.

Bugg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Sewanee: The University of the South and a Master of Science in Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
