Governor Greg Abbott and First Lady Cecilia Abbott recently joined President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in Kerr County to meet with Texas families and first responders affected by severe flooding and heavy rainfall across Texas. During their visit, they also stopped by the Wall of Hope in downtown Kerrville.
“Part of our bloodstream is that we are Texas tough,” stated Governor Abbott. “We are one team united. Fighting as Texans, we are going to rebuild not just in Kerrville, Hunt, or Kerr County, but across the entire state.”
President Trump expressed national support: “The First Lady and I are here in Texas to express the love, support, and anguish of the entire nation. My Administration is going to do everything in its power who help the affected communities.”
Upon arrival at Kerrville Aviation, Governor Abbott and First Lady Abbott greeted President Trump and First Lady Trump. They then met with first responders and local officials at Louise Hays Park for updates on search and rescue efforts.
The group proceeded to Hill Country Youth Event Center for a roundtable discussion with federal, state, local officials, and impacted Texans from Kerrville. Both Governor Abbott and President Trump extended condolences to families affected by the floods. The Governor thanked President Trump for promptly coordinating necessary resources for Hill Country communities.
