Governor Greg Abbott has made significant appointments to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. Brian Rentsch, P.E., has been appointed for a term that will conclude on October 31, 2027. In addition to this appointment, Ryan Bridges has been named as chair of the board. The board is responsible for regulating the practice of psychology within the state.
Brian Rentsch hails from Grapevine and is known for his work as a professional engineer and certified project manager at Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. His affiliations include memberships in several organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers, Society of American Military Engineers, American Public Works Association, National Society of Professional Engineers, and the Urban Land Institute. Furthermore, he is associated with Church at the Cross. Rentsch’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University.
Ryan Bridges comes from Katy and works as Lead Analyst for Insurance Risk Management at CenterPoint Energy. He holds positions such as vice chairman of the Texas FAIR Plan Association Governing Committee and member roles in both the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council and Surplus Lines Stamping Office of Texas Board of Directors. His volunteer activities include participation in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Special Attractions Committee. Bridges is also a life member of organizations like the National Eagle Scout Association, Sam Houston State University Alumni Association, and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He earned both his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Master’s degree in Business Administration from Sam Houston State University.
